UPDATE : Vodafone’s Customer Service
Posted by Ameya on December 4th, 2007 filed in life Sai was using the MTNL’s Dolphin Sim cards and was complaining about the poor service. I suggested her to buy the Vodafone Sim as my experience with it was quite good untill last week.
Well, she got her Vodafone numbers so did her parents. They got a Group Talk Plan in which the calling within the group was absolutely free. I joined their group as well.
On Sunday December 02, I discovered that I was not able to make any calls out side our “Vodafone Group” and I was also not able to receive any calls other than these Group Numbers. I thought it was a network problem and should resolve within a couple of hours. But it did not fix till the evening and I tried to call the vodafone guys .. but ooops…….
I was not even able to call to the Vodafone Customer Care!! I called them up using a different number of my friend and complained about the issue. They asked me to change the “closed user group settings” which should fix my issue. But it didn’t. I again called them up.. I restarted my phone 100 times.. I tried using a different handset as well but no luck. Other Sims were working absolutely fine with my handset so there was no problem in my phone.
These so called pathetic “Vodafone Customer Care” guys told me to reset my handset and other nasty things which dint fix my issue. Finally yesterday I changed my sim from the Vodafone Store on 4th December and got a new sim with same number. It activated within a couple of hours with the inherited issue. I also noticed that there was a guy interested in new offers of Vodafone. No one from the Gallery was interested to entertain him. He asked several time if someone could please explain him some plans or provide brochure but no one did. I realized there how do they provide service to their Existing Customer like me.. and to those who were interested to get their new connection.
I was now annoyed. It is definitely a mess with some settings of the sim or with Vodafone Service. I again called up the 111 ‘Customer Care’ .. explained my issue and the guy told me that he has ESCALATED this issue to his seniors and it will be fixed within a couple of hours. But the ‘Vodafone Senior Officers’ also don’t bother at all for the customers. My issue is not resolved even after 12+ hours wen he promised me to fix it in a couple of hours.
Today morning I again called up.. and did the same procedure. The new guy again promised me the same thing. The new promise was to fix it within half an hour or to the max within two hours. But… its 3 hours now. I have restarted my cell for more than 10 times.
And still it is NOT Active.
Just think how much these guys will charge us even if we are late by 1 day to make the bill payment?? And how they treat us when its their time to provide the service!
Please beware before choosing Vodafone service!!!
Today December 6th, I got a call from the senior Vodafone person to confirm the activation of my services. Finally they took my issue seriously and fixed the issue. The guys who has worked with Asterisk or any other VOIP server can easily understand how easy it was to fix this issue. But only due to careless behavior of few Customer Representatives it took 5th day to fix this. Anyway the manager told me to look into this and I am hoping for a better service in future.

I like the review, and i do hope u get justice ,since i know its happened to u many a times.
I like the review. It not Vodafone in fault its the Staff that the enroll that makes all the difference.
The company is like our mumbai police…who wait for an excuse to b\pass the buck to someone else…n never lift their butt’s to d anythin.
This behavior is kinda ing\hibitted in us…all Indians.
We only know the difference when we go abroad and see how tenious life is with everythin done perfectly and on time….
My friends say that in 2020 India will be a super power…Imagine a country like ours setting such an example to the entire world….how will things work…if we were in a place like US-Infulenced by Indian Culture.- Thinkk abt it….
I hope the people change in this country if they ever wanna move to being a super power…orelse..Only the rich will survive not hte middle and poor class.
This is just VODAFONE!
